How to Build Your List – 7 Powerful Strategies

If you have been an internet marketer, or had any type of online home based business, for more than a few days, then you will no doubt have heard someone say, ‘if you want to make money online, you have to build an opt-in list.’

Take that advice very seriously, because it’s true! It took me a long time to finally let the list building advice sink in, so I didn’t start doing it until I had my home business for quite a while. However, once I started building my list, I realized just how important it truly is. My only regret now is that I didn’t start a lot sooner.

There are numerous ways to build an opt-in list. However, some are much more effective than others. So, I decided to share seven of the most powerful strategies to build a targeted opt-in list.

Here are seven tips for building your opt-in list, in no particular order:

1) Free Newsletter – Offering a free newsletter from your website is one of the most common, and effective ways to build an opt-in list. It is also one of the best strategies for building trusting relationships with your list.

Pack your newsletter full of useful information, free resources, tips, tools, and anything else your subscriber list will be interested in. Also, be sure to make it fun and add your personality to it. Then your subscribers will enjoy reading it and get to know you at the same time.

2) Make It Easy to Subscribe – To maximize your newsletter sign-ups, you must also have a quick and easy way for people to subscribe to it. The best way to do this is to put a simple form on the top part of the left hand column of your websites home page, and all other pages, if possible.

Put a quick sentence or two telling them why your newsletter would benefit them (i.e. freebies, resources, tips, tools, etc…) then have a way for them to add their email address and name below it. This simple form will bring in a lot of your subscriber list.

3) Quality Content – Packing your website full of quality content will bring in a lot of visitors. Many of these visitors will then subscribe to your newsletter. Your list will grow naturally and so will your search engine rankings, which will bring even more visitors who can join your list. It will eventually turn into a list building, money making cycle.

4) Forums – There are literally thousands of forums and discussion boards on the internet where people go to discuss all sorts of things and ask questions. All you have to do is find forums related to your particular business and participate in the discussion.

Most of the forums allow you to put a signature line under your post, which is where you can put a link to your subscription information. Do not spam the forums in any way. Make absolutely certain you offer legitimate posts, with useful information, or you will ruin your reputation in no time.

5) Write Articles – This is well-known technique for establishing yourself as an expert in your field and getting inbound links to your site. Furthermore, it is just as effective for building your opt-in list. All you have to do it put a link to your newsletter subscription in the byline of the article and submit the article to websites, directories, and ezines.

I think writing articles is actually one of the best ways to build your list because the readers already see you as an expert. They will think of you as a knowledgeable individual and someone they can trust before they even join your list. Profits will roll in much faster from these subscribers.

6) Co-Registration – This is something you may have never even heard of, but it is used by many top internet marketers to build huge lists in a very short amount of time. I actually first learned of this list building technique after reading an article from one of the top marketing experts on the internet.

Rather than go on about what co-registration lists are, instead I am going to simply tell you that they are a very effective way to build a monster list in a short amount of time. You can find my recommended co-registration service at http://work-at-home-jobs-iowa.com/nlb.html. At their website you will be able to learn more about what co-registration lists are and how they work.

7) Write an E-book – Internet marketers are always looking for freebies to give away on their websites, as bonuses for purchases, and to send to their lists. This is a great opportunity for you to build your own list. All you have to do is write an e-book and let other internet marketers give it away.

The e-book doesn’t have to be anything too elaborate; you can just make it a collection of your best articles, business tips, and business resources. Of course, you will put links to your newsletter subscription and website. Then, give it away, and watch it turn into a viral list building machine.

There you have it, seven powerful strategies that are sure to build your opt-in list. Putting these list building strategies into play as soon as possible will quickly sky-rocket your list numbers, and increase your profits, more than you could have ever imagined.

Ezine advertising for driving huge traffic in Network Marketing

Ezine advertising is an extremely powerful way to build your opt-in list and create prospects for your network marketing business. Ezine advertising can generate traffic to your Network Marketing Opportunity page VERY quickly.

Maybe your impatient, like me… ;-) All of us are like that at some point.

Maybe you NEED to make money NOW!

If that’s the case, today’s marketing strategy is for you.

If your own subscriber list isn’t big enough yet to pull in all the income you need right now, all you have to do is start sending your ad to other people’s opt-in subscriber lists!

Imagine sending your opportunity ad right now to 5,000 or 10,000 or 100,000 or 1 MILLION motivated opt-in subscribers within the next few days.

When you send an ad on Ezine advertising, these people who get your ad have already opted into that Ezine and WANT to get that information….they are hungry for what that Ezine has to say. Now send an ad them and get them hungry for what you have to say.

How many sales could you make with that much exposure?

What if you made 10, 20, 50 or 100?

Here’s how it works:

There are thousands of ezines (Internet newsletters) out there RIGHT NOW with *HUGE* subscriber lists standing by ready to send YOUR AD to their list.

All you have to do is place an order! :-)

To achieve this, let’s say you buy 2 ezine solo ads for $75 each. Each ezine has 10,000 opt-in subscribers for a total of 20,000 subscribers. Upon sending the ads, you only get a 0.1% response rate which equals 1 sale for every 1000 subscribers who receive your ad. You just made 20 sales and new customers! BINGO! Instant cash for you and your Internet Network Marketing business.

Do you see how it’s nearly impossible not to make money with this system? Imagine… being able to spend $700 in advertising and still earn a strong residual income with only 20 sales. And 20 sales is a very, very conservative estimate. Most people who spend that much money in advertising make a whole lot more than 20 sales… Start applying the strategy outlined below and you can join that club!

Are you ready to get started?

Tip#1 Be sure to choose the SOLO AD option. Each ezine offers different types of advertising solutions such as classified ads, sponsor ads, etc. The way to make this strategy work for you is to purchase SOLO ADS. This is where you get to send your ad ALL BY ITSELF to the ENTIRE list of subscribers!

I am going to recommend one Ezine in particular, Solo-Ads.com. Here you can get free, targeted solo-ads for reading other solo-ads and clicking their links. The best part is, you qualify for sending and ad out when you first sign-up! Or, you can just buy the number of ads you want and save time.

You will absolutely want to consult the Directory of Ezines for other excellent places to place your solo ads. Use the search tools to get the largest, targeted readership for the best price. Once you search in there, look for ezines that hit your target market…

Enjoy.

11 Great Twitter Users in the Direct Selling and Network Marketing World

Interesting post by Jennifer Fong about Internet Marketers on Twitter.

Twitter is an interesting social media tool.  Unlike Facebook, which helps  those in direct sales and network marketing focus primarily on their “warm market” of family and friends, Twitter, when used correctly, opens you up to a whole new world of prospects.  The underlying essentials of successful Twitter use remain the same as in all social media: build relationships, provide value, be interesting.  Yet Twitter is fundamentally different from Facebook in that it could be called a “content engine.”

The true power of Twitter beyond the ability to build relationships is the content sharing that goes on there.  There is a constant stream of links to relevant articles and blogs that can provide your business with a tremendous amount of value, if you’re paying attention.  Facebook users tend to share things “in-network,” meaning that most of what occurs there stays on Facebook.  But Twitter users regularly follow links to new content all over the Internet.  And when used correctly, that can be a powerful tool for your business.

I’ve often said that your Twitter experience is dictated in large part by the people you follow.  As a direct seller or network marketer, that means you should be following people in your target market, as well as others within our own industry who are providing a lot of value.  Today’s post is about people within direct selling that you may be interested in following if you work in this industry.  Please note that this is in no way intended to be a comprehensive list, and I encourage you to share the usernames of others you find valuable in the comments.  And if you’d like to follow me on Twitter, my username is@JenFongSpeaks.  (I used to use @liajen, but am slowly migrating off that account.)

So here’s my list of good people in direct sales and network marketing to follow on Twitter. (p.s. I am not mentioning company-specific accounts, although there are some great ones out there.  Feel free to highlight yours in the comments.)

  • DSNupdate: Direct Selling News is the industry publication for direct sales.  Nancy Laichas, managing editor of Direct Selling News, uses this Twitter account to share breaking news from across the industry.
  • julieannejones: Julie Anne Jones is a direct sales trainer who specializes in Party Plan.  She constantly posts free tips and articles full of excellent information for the party plan direct seller.
  • jackieulmer: On the Network Marketing end, Jackie Ulmer’s Twitter account and blog provide great information for the network marketer seeking to build his or her business.
  • heatheramyprice: Heather Price is in the trenches building a direct selling business, sharing great tips and resources through both her Twitter account and blog.  She’s definitely someone to check out!
  • HarrietteJ: Another “in the trenches” Twitter user is Harriette Jasper.  If you want an example of someone who is GREAT at building relationships on Twitter, and is experiencing great success with her overall social media marketing strategy (and is a great person, to boot!) you’ll want to check out Harriette.
  • lisarobbinyoung: Lisa is both a direct seller and direct sales coach who started the hashtag #dstips on Twitter.  If you do a Twitter search on #dstips, you’ll find tons of info that can help you build your direct selling business.
  • Ravish30: Shelly Hill contributes a TON to the #dstips hashtag on Twitter.  She’s another great giver on Twitter who provides information to help you do your job better.
  • laurieayers: Laurie Ayers is one of the writers of one of my favorite Direct Sales blogs,WAHM 2.0.  She provides tons of great tips that help direct sellers do their business better.
  • lindastacy: Linda provides great wisdom for the direct seller.  Her blog, Business Opportunity Network, has great articles too. (Have you all noticed a theme here…many of the great tweeters also have great blogs!)
  • GoforNo: Andrea Waltz is Co-Author of Go for No!, and is working to help direct sellers create a mind shift about failure, rejection and the word: NO! She provides great tips and links to articles through her Twitter account.
  • funfelt: Karen Clark has been using social media for a long time, is a regular commenter on this blog, and shares great tips and ideas through her funfelt Twitter account, as well as her new account MyBizPresence.

So those are (just some of) my favorites.  Now it’s your turn!  Who do you love to follow on Twitter that is helping you with your direct selling or network marketing business?  And feel free to leave your own Twitter ID in the comments as well!  (I’ll follow you!)

Network Marketing – 11 Things You Must Know

Network Marketing has really come of age with many wildly successful business people endorsing it as a legitimate way to create wealth like Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and Robert G Allen, just to name a few.

There are hundreds of network marketing/MLM companies out there to chose from, however not all companies and opportunities are equal. Here are 11 great things you must know if you truly want to be successful in network marketing and multi level marketing.

1. Solid Company Background – do some research and make sure the company has at least 5 years history and that it has a good reputation and a great track record.

2. Who Are The Leaders - Are there any high profile figures involved and endorsing the products? And what were they doing before they got involved? High profile figures has their reputation at stake, so if they are happy to endorse the company it may be worthwhile.

3. Re-Usable Products – You want to make sure the company is sustainable. You want to look for products that are going to be reordered on a regular basis month after month. There is no point selling houses in a network marketing model, as the average person will only buy 1 -2 in their life.

4. High Demand – You want to make sure the products are in high demand and in a growing industry. For example the health industry is great as with all the baby boomers it is an expanding and booming industry.

5. Good Compensation Plan – Within the network marketing industry there are around 6 – 8 different ways a company can pay their associates. You want to make sure it has a fair compensation plan and one that the average people can succeed in. If you have to jump though too many hoops in order to get paid, you may struggle to create real wealth.

6. Do Research – Make sure you’ve done your research by checking out the BBB (better business bureau). Try to find “dirt” on the company and check the validity of the sources claiming the dirt.

7. Delivery Of Products – Does the company deliver the products or do you need to stock a garage full of products? You want to make sure the associates and customers can place orders directly with the company.

8. Great Training – Do they provide the proper training and support for you and your team? You don’t want to be a part of something where you’re totally on your own to figure it out. This is one of the major causes why people fail.

9. Effort Required – How many hours per week do you need to put into the business? You want to make sure the compensation plan offers true passive/residual income techniques.

10. MOST IMPORTANT – Learn how to dream, and also learn how to set goals. (Read Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich) 90% of this business is mental. (This is true of any endeavor in life, playing professional sports, achieving great wealth, affecting mass humanity)

11. MOST IMPORTANT #2 – Be coachable and don’t be afraid to ask for help, one of the great benefits of network marketing is that you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Your sponsor/upline is always there to help you.
